The North American Forest Foundation (NAFF) is excited to introduce Liz Kovach, President of Supply-Build Canada
Liz Kovach is the President of Supply-Build Canada (formerly the Western Retail Lumber Association). She has played a central role in shaping the organization’s strategic direction and strengthening its position within Canada’s building supply industry.
Under her leadership, Supply-Build Canada has evolved into a trusted industry voice. This includes a comprehensive rebrand to reflect its national reach and impact, expanded education programming from entry-level training to executive development, strengthened advocacy with government at all levels, and organizational growth from a team of four to fourteen full-time staff, supported by expanded industry events and strategic member engagement initiatives such as the Across the Yard podcast.
Liz has led the launch of several flagship initiatives, including the Let’s Go Build campaign, a public awareness effort focused on highlighting career pathways and opportunities within the building supply industry, as well as the development of an industry internship program designed to connect youth with meaningful career opportunities. The program continues to grow through strong member engagement.
Liz is deeply committed to continuous improvement and building high-performing teams. She is passionate about ensuring the association consistently delivers value to its members and serves as a trusted partner in helping member businesses grow and succeed.
As a natural industry connector, Liz is focused on strengthening existing relationships while building new ones to support a resilient, visible, and well-connected building supply sector.
Outside of work, Liz is actively involved in Winnipeg’s Hungarian community, where she was born and raised. She enjoys spending time at the lake with her family, staying active, enjoying the outdoors, and cheering on the Winnipeg Jets.
